Ella's Birds I & II
Pure heaven.
_______
Lullaby of Birdland
by Ella Fitzgerald
Have you ever heard two turtle doves
bill and coo when they love.
Fliyin' high in birdland
high in the sky up above
all because we're in love.
I simply adore the music of Fitzgerald. How she scats and glides smoothly through her jazzy tunes.
Pure heaven.
I was listening to this song when I thought of drawing two turledoves. Methinks I ended up with two jazzy feathered friends.
_______
Lullaby of Birdland
by Ella Fitzgerald
Lullaby of birdland, that's what
I always hear when you sigh.
Never in my woodland
could there be words to reveal
in a phrase how I feel.
I always hear when you sigh.
Never in my woodland
could there be words to reveal
in a phrase how I feel.
Have you ever heard two turtle doves
bill and coo when they love.
That's the kind of magic
music we make with our lips
when we kiss.
music we make with our lips
when we kiss.
And there's a weepy ol' willow
he really knows how to cry.
he really knows how to cry.
That's how I cry in my pillow
if you should tell me
farewell and goodbye.
if you should tell me
farewell and goodbye.
Lullaby of Birdland whisper low
kiss me sweet & we'll go.
kiss me sweet & we'll go.
Fliyin' high in birdland
high in the sky up above
all because we're in love.

Hi Daniel, your artworks are really really good! :-)
Wow! Jazzy, indeed, Daniel. The top one is my favorite.
Ella was something else, but it was Sarah Vaughn for me.
@jervis : thank you. i enjoy reading your blog too. i can relate with your early relationship with manog Bud. but in my case, i started out with Lolo Cerveza Negra. :-)
@ senor: long time no check blogs. :-)

Just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY (and yes, it came in late - sorry!)
As usual, your entries are awesome and the art is exquisite. I'm so happy I found the link to your website (c/o McVie).
Anyway, take care, champ and keep up the awesome work!
thank you for the greeting marcus! :-)
@athos11 : like everything else, it takes practice to draw... :-)
